PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die for press brake and its manufacturing method by which bend flaws such as a fusion phenomenon and burning liable to be generated in a stainless steel plate and an aluminum alloy plate stock or the like are not generated and moreover a die for bending a long size material is easily manufactured. SOLUTION: A base stock of a die is roughed (S1), thereafter finishing is executed (S2), and next a surface hardening treating method, wherein a hard ceramic film is formed by electric discharge machining at the part of the surface of the die in contact with a plate stock at the time of bending, is executed (S3). After roughing (S1), a heat treatment such as quenching/annealing, induction hardening or flame hardening is executed. Next, finishing (S2) may be executed by machining or by at least machining finally.
