PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for controlling moisture of coals which advantageously dries coals in a moisture-conditioning coal system, even when using coals having high moisture contents in combination with usual blend coals. SOLUTION: Before introducing coals into a coke oven, coals are introduced into a dryer of a moisture-conditioning coal system to adjust the moisture content in coals. Here, when coals having high moisture contents and those having lower moisture contents are switched depending on the coke oven into which the coals are introduced and introduced separately into the dryer, prior to their drying in the dryer, the coals having lower moisture contents are moistened to match their moisture contents with those of the coals having higher moisture contents to suppress the moisture fluctuation of coals introduced into the dryer.
