APPARATUS FOR DISCHARGING STATIC ELECTRICITY OF AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE: An apparatus for discharging static electricity of automobile is provided to use a string for discharging static electricity permanently without any abrasion of the string by allowing the string to retract from road surface during running of automobile and to contact the string to the road surface and then discharge the static electricity just prior to getting off of a driver, i.e., only at the time when the automobile stops. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for discharging static electricity of automobile comprises a string(100) for discharging static electricity; a motor(102) rotating for pushing and pulling the string(100) at an intended length; a motor drive member(104) for setting a rotational direction and for driving the motor(102); a power supply(106) for generating a desired voltage power; a speed sensor(108) for detecting the current speed of automobile; a switching member(110) which connects the power source of the power supply(106) to the motor drive member(104) for a predetermined time interval in response to the control signal applied from the sensor and cuts off the power source of the power supply(106) after a predetermined time interval; and a controller(112) for controlling a rotational direction of motor drive member(104). The controller(112) controls the switching member(110) to be a closed state and also controls the rotational direction of the motor drive member(104) to allow the string(100) to contact with the ground if the controller determines the automobile stops in response to the speed data of automobile applied from the speed sensor(108), while the controller(112) controls the switching member(110) to be a closed state and controls the rotational direction of the motor drive member(104) to allow the string(100) to pull up not to contact with the ground if the controller determines the automobile is running in response to the speed data of automobile applied from the speed sensor(108).
