PROCESS FOR SILICON HYDRIDE ADDITION AND PREFERRED DEGREE OF POLYMERIZATION FOR SILICON HYDRIDE FOR THERMOPLASTIC VULCANIZATES

PURPOSE: A composition which has an excellent mechanical properties by using hydrosilation cross-linked compounds with low degree of polymerization or enhancing hydrosilation cross-links of rubber in a thermoplastic vulcanizate(TPV) through diluting hydrosilation cross-linked compounds in oil prior to adding to the TPV or combination thereof, and has an improved long term thermal aging properties by adding additives which reacts with a silicon hydride functional group in a thermoplastic elastomer is provided. CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic vulcanizate is produced by the following steps: mixing melted thermoplastic resin and rubber then obtaining the resulted mixture; adding a hydrosilation cross-linking agent diluted in oil to the thermoplastic resin or rubber mixture or combination thereof; adding a hydrosilation catalyst to the thermoplastic resin or rubber mixture or combination thereof; and cross-linking the resin in the resulted mixture by using the hydrosilation cross-linking agent.
