PURPOSE: A space frame for vehicle provides a triangulated tubular space frame for a low profile, light truck having a passenger compartment, and front and rear wheel assemblies, and where substantially all, if not all of the triangulated tubular space frame's structural members are below the floor. CONSTITUTION: A space frame(10) for vehicle comprises a front clip portion(12) above the front wheel assembly(C), a rear clip portion(17) above the rear wheel assembly(D), and a tub portion supporting the base of the passenger compartment. The tub portion includes a plurality of structural members at least two of which are disposed in horizontal coplanar relation relative to one another wherein additional structural members of the tub portion are connected together in a triangulated configuration at an elevation at or below the at least two horizontal coplanar structural members of the tub portion. Foldable roll bars are also provided.
