摘要 PURPOSE: A method for driving a matrix typed PDP(Plasma Display Panel) is provided to improve brightness by reducing addressing period while driving plural lines of maintaining electrodes of discharge at the same time. CONSTITUTION: 0V and 130V are fed to an S1 electrode and to an A1 electrode for feeding 130V of voltage to a discharging space formed at the cross point of the S1 electrode and the A1 electrode to be turned on. 0V and 90V are fed to the S1 electrode and to an A2 electrode for feeding 90V of voltage to the discharging space formed at the cross point of the S1 electrode and the A2 electrode to be turned on. 0V and -80V are fed to the S1 electrode and to an A3 electrode for feeding 80V of voltage to the discharging space formed at the cross point of the S1 electrode and the A3 electrode to be turned off. 0V is fed to the S1 electrode and to an A4 electrode for feeding 0V of voltage to the discharging space formed at the cross point of the S1 electrode and the A4 electrode to be turned off. Therefore, the discharging cells in a first row operate in the process. 20V and 120V are fed to an S2 electrode and to the A1 electrode for feeding 100V of voltage to a discharging space formed at the cross point of the S2 electrode, and the A1 electrode to be turned on. 20V and 90V are fed to the S2 electrode and to the A2 electrode for feeding 70V of voltage to the discharging space formed at the cross point of the S2 electrode, and the A2 electrode to be turned off. 20V and -80V are fed to the S2 electrode and to the A3 electrode for feeding 100V of voltage to the discharging space formed at the cross point of the S2 electrode, and the A3 electrode to be turned off. 20V and 0V are fed to the S2 electrode and to the A4 electrode for feeding 20V of voltage to the discharging space formed at the cross point of the S2 electrode and the A4 electrode to be turned off. Therefore, the discharging cells in a second row operate in the process.
