PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation device which can exhibit a base isolation effect for the earthquake with a middle and small scale while preventing the fall of the piled rubber for base isolation. SOLUTION: A base isolation device 12 has a piled rubber for base isolation 18 and a restriction member 20. The piled rubber for base isolation 18 is constituted by piling a thin rubber plate 18A and thin steel plate 18B in order. The restriction member 20 for restricting the deformation to a horizontal direction of the piled rubber for base isolation 18 is fixed to the upper structure 16 places near the piled rubber for base isolation 18 and arranged radially around the piled rubber for base isolation 18 and has an end surface 2002 facing to the outer periphery 1804 of the piled rubber for base isolation 18. The end surface 2002 is formed by a curved surface away from the outer periphery surface 1804 of the piled rubber for base isolation 18 steplessly and gradually as reaching the lower end.
