<p>The accessory (1), which is designed to be placed next to the hearing aid (7), comprises a compact, monolithic receiver module connected to an antenna for receiving e.g. radio-frequency signals. The module output is connected via a level control (14) to an amplifier supplying current to a miniature coil inside the accessory casing (2). The coil is oriented so that the magnetic field (6) around it passes through the telecoil in the hearing aid. Field strength adjusted using the level control affects the automatic level control in the hearing aid. Telecoil sensitivity is therefore reduced and the signal to noise ratio for the desired signal is increased.</p> |
