PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To announce a call time, for example, to a user to permit him or her to quickly and easily recognize it as a using state of a telephone set. SOLUTION: The telephone set is provided with a state notifying means capable of announcing the call time by previously fixed plural ways of announcing patterns in accordance with the passage of the call time, when it is considered as the state to be changed by the usage state of the telephone set. Then a light-emitting means having one light-emitting element is arranged, for example, as the state notifying means. The announcing patterns created by the light- emitting means are plural kinds of light-emitting patterns which are prepared in accordance with the passage of the call time by the combination of turning on and off of the light-emitting element and the user can recognize the present call time by viewing the light-emitting patterns during a call. For example, a light-emitting operation by the light-emitting patterns P1 is executed after one minute dapses the light-emitting operation by the light-emitting pattern P2 is executed after two minutes pass and, moreover, the light-emitting operation by the light-emitting pattern P5 is executed after a five minutes elapse.
