摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loss compensation type optical fiber for wavelength multiplex transmission which lessens the occurrence of four light wave mixing by a nonlinear phenomenon even when a dispersion flat fiber is used in a very long distance wavelength multiplex transmission system. SOLUTION: Erbium having an amplification function at a 1.55μm band is added to a core part 1 which has a zero dispersion wavelength within a range of 1560 to 1600 nm of the optical fiber for wavelength multiplex transmission which executes transmission with one optical fiber by multiplexing a plurality of light signals varying in wavelengths in which a signal light propagates and, therefore, the occurrence of the four light wave mixing by the nonlinear phenomenon is lessened even if the dispersion flat fiber is used in the very long distance wavelength multiplex transmission system.
