PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device and a method for preventing deterioration and damage of a function of an output circuit. SOLUTION: This storage device is constituted so that resistors R8, R9, R10 of an internal boosting potential level discriminating circuit 2 for output only holds tilt of the minimum level of an internal boosting potential VBOOTQ for output only for external voltage after input of a burn-in entry signal BIMD. Thereby, a level of the internal boosting potential VBOOTQ for output only is set to a low state at the time of burn-in and needless voltage is not given to an output circuit 5. Therefore, deterioration and damage of a function of an output circuit can be prevented.
