PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube capable of preventing resonance phenomena in a tape-shaped part of a color selecting mask. SOLUTION: The cathode-ray tube 1 has a color selecting mechanism 3 having a color selecting mask 5 having many slit holes 4; a frame 6 supporting the color selecting mask 5; a vibration proof wire 7 stretched so as to cross in the length direction of the slit holes 7, and the color selecting mask 5 is stretched along the curvature in the tube shaft direction of the frame 6, a secondary differential value of the curvature of a part of the frame 6 with which the color selecting mask 5 after stretched comes in contact is always negative in an optional point, or an amount of change from the negative to positive is 0.01 or less.
