PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load on a patient due to re-photographing, etc., and to enhance ability to detect the affected part. SOLUTION: An X-ray image is captured in a flat panel detector, picked out as a signal from the detector and converted into the distribution of laser light intensity. A silver halide photographic sensitive material containing a compound of the formula R21-(S)m-R22 and silver halide grains subjected to at least one chemical sensitization selected from sulfur sensitization, selenium sensitization and tellurium sensitization is subjected to scanning exposure and processed with an automatic processing machine. In the formula, R21 and R22 are each an aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic group. R21 or R22 may be a group of atoms capable of forming a ring by bonding to S, R21 and R22 may be the same or different and (m) is an integer of 2-6.
