Up-to-date microprocessor systems usually consist of a bus system to which a microprocessor and a plurality of peripheral units linked via peripheral interface modules are connected. The microprocessor performs adjustments in the functionality of the peripheral interface modules. Such a solution requires a complex logic in said peripheral interface modules.
