PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a key telephone system to accurately calculate a speech charge. SOLUTION: A speech time count means 144 counts a speech time from a start of speech to an end of speech of a telephone set connecting to the key telephone system. A speech charge trial calculation means 146 makes a trial calculation of a speech charge equivalent to the counted speech time on the basis of the counted speech time and a speech charge per unit time stored in a data storage memory of the telephone set that made the speech. A speech data comparison update means 148 compares a speech time and a speech charge received from a station with the counted speech time and the speech charge of trial calculation. When they are dissident, the means 148 applies prescribed update processing to them so that they are coincident with the speech information from the station and stores the update processing result to a storage section to update the storage contents.
