<p>A process for the preparation of an alkylene glycol by reacting an alkylene oxide with water in the presence of a solid catalytic composition which includes a strongly basic ion exchange resin coordinated with one or more anions, and a stabilising additive which is an acidic ion exchange resin. Preferably the acidic ion exchange resin is of the weakly acidic methacrylate type.</p> |
