Use of N-cyanomethyl quaternary ammonium salts (I) as activators, particularly for inorganic peroxy compounds (II), in solid cleaning agents, especially for tableware, that are used in essentially aqueous cleaning solutions. (I) are formulated as particles with inorganic, silicon-containing carriers (III).
