A light-sensitive silver halide (AgX) photographic element comprises a AgX contg. emulsion layer(s) on a film base, which comprises a coextruded laminate with (i) 1st layer comprising a polyester of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or its dialkyl ester and an alkylene glycol adjacent to the emulsion layer, and (ii) a 2nd layer comprising a polyester having a humidity expansion coefft. greater than 5x10power-5 1/% RH (RH = relative humidity) and a Youngs modulus at 50% RH greater than 300 kPSI. The thickness of the 2nd layer is defined by formula (I), where h2O = thickness of the 2nd layer to obtain zero curl and is determined by formula (II). The values of a, b and c are obtd. by formulae (III), (IV) and (V) respectively. Z is determined by formula (IV) where E'i, E'1 and E'2 are determined by formula (VII). In the formulae; i is layer 1, 2 or l respectively and Vi is the Poisson's ratio of layer i' and he, El and ye are the thickness, Young's modulus and HEC of the 1st layer; and H2, E2 and y2 are the thickness, Young's modulus and HEC of the 2nd layer. |
