The timepiece has a dial face provided by a set of cooperating iris stop plates, with a number of alternate sets (32) of iris stop plates selected to provide different dial faces in dependence on the time, date or year. The time or date information for alteration of the timepiece dial face may be logged in a memory (28) coupled to the electronic timepiece control (16), together with the corresponding iris stop plate set (32).
