PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for continuously producing an olefin polymer modified with a vinyl compound wherein a grafted olefin polymer having an ability to modify thermoplastic resins can be produced with good productivity and wherein the graft polymerization reaction is easy to control during the production. SOLUTION: An olefin polymer and at least one vinyl monomer selected from styrene, acrylonitrile, (meth)acrylic acid and derivatives thereof are put into a plug flow reactor to effect graft polymerization continuously by using a polymerization method selected from bulk polymerization, bulk suspension polymerization and solution polymerization methods. The vinyl monomer is added preferably in portions to the reactor. It is desirable to use a free radical initiator for the graft polymerization. The olefin polymer modified with the vinyl compound is excellent in oil resistance and mechanical characteristics as it is without blending with other thermoplastic resins.
