ANTIBACTERIAL CRYSTALLIZED GLASS ARTICLE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an antibacterial crystallized glass article having both antibacterial property and aesthetic value. SOLUTION: A suspension containing metal ions which exhibit antibacterial property is applied on the surfaces of small glass bodies which crystallize while causing softening deformation when heat-treated. The glass bodies are accumulated in a fire resistant mold and heat-treated. The metal ions are carried on the glass bodies and the glass bodies fuse and crystallize to give the objective antibacterial crystallized glass article.
