PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove nitrogen oxides in a small scale apparatus at a low running cost. SOLUTION: The removing apparatus 1 of nitrogen oxides is mainly comprised of a first treating stage 3 provided with an inlet 2 to which contaminated air containing nitrogen oxides is fed, and a second treating stage 5 provided with an inlet 4 to which the treated air in the first stage is fed from the first treating stage. Controlled release oxidants 6 are packed in the first treating stage 3 and a spraying device 7 for supplying water to the controlled release oxidants 6 is placed on their upper side. The oxidants 6 are coated with controlled release oxidizing agents 9 on the surfaces of core materials 8.
