PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contrive the effective utilization of a space under a staircase by providing a space downward of the staircase of a building, arranging a lighting on the upper part of the space, arranging a decorative shelf on the bottom part and possessing mirror effecting by a material capable of reflecting the image of the person or the matter of a periphery. SOLUTION: The image of the person or the matter of the periphery of a decorative shelf 16 is reflected on the surface of the decorative shelf 16 as the contour or color can be discriminated, and a mirror is arranged to be inclined for a wall 22 on a boundary part between the partition wall 22 and a wall 24 on this side. In addition, an ornament such as an artificial flower 27 can be mounted on the decorative shelf 16, and a lighting is set on the bottom part of the landing of the upper part of a space 25 to brighten the decorative shelf 16. The decorative shelf 16 is arranged on the front of the indoor side of a main entrance 2, the artificial flower 27 or the like is decorated, at the time when a visitor comes, external appearance is made good, and the image of a matter or the person on the periphery is reflected on the decorative shelf 16 to enhance decorative effect.
