PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonograph by which the depth and width of a gate mark are automatically adjusted without troubling the hand of an operator by a pulse Doppler mode. SOLUTION: An echo signal obtained by applying ultrasonic wave to a subject is wave-detected by an orthogonal phase. Then a Doppler signal of a Dopper shift frequency component is extracted, the Doppler signal corresponding to a part corresponding to the direction of a sampling line member set on a B- mode image and the depth and width of the gate marker is segmented and a frequency spectrum expressing a blood flow pattern is obtained by analyzing the frequency of the segmented Doppler signal and is displayed in the ultrasonograph. In the device, a blood flow part existing on the sampling line marker is recognized based on a color Doppler image so that the depth and width of the gate marker are automatically adjusted in accordance with the recognized blood flow part.
