PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of retaining fresh natural tone of color of clothing not dyed with a fluorescent brightener or slightly dyed even if dyed in a time of new product or light colored cloth and maintaining a clear tone of color by mixing hydrogen peroxide with a bleaching activator, a fluorescent brightener and a specific component. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) hydrogen peroxide or a peroxide to generate hydrogen peroxide in water, (B) a bleaching activator, (C) a fluorescent brightener and (D) one or more kinds selected from a polyethylene glycol, a polyvinyl alcohol, a carboxymethylcellulose and a carboxylic acid-based polymer and has 0.2-6 increase in fluorescence intensity (IF value) after cleaning. Preferably, the composition is obtained by mixing 0.5-5 wt.% of the component A with 0.5-3 wt.% of the component B, 0.0001-0.2 wt.% of the component C and 2-8 wt.% of the component D. Sodium peroxide, or the like, are preferable as the component A, compounds of formula I and formula II (R is an 8-18C alkyl or alkenyl; M is H or a water-soluble salt-forming cation) as the component B and a biphenyl type fluorescent brightener as the component C.
