PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition containing a thickener having high thickening effect and physiochemical stability by making the composition include a specific polyether type thickener. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) 0.1-10 wt.% of a polyether type thickener of the formula R1-O-(EO)a-R2 (R1 and R2 are each a 12-28C alkyl or alkenyl; EO is oxyethylene; (a) is an average number of addition mols of EO and is 50-100) and (B) 1-50 wt.% of a surfactant. A polyoxyethylene (a=60-80) stearyl-cetyl diether, or the like, are preferable as the component A. (i) A nonionic surfactant and (ii) an anionic surfactant are preferable as the component B. In the case of using the component (ii), preferably (iii) an amphoteric surfactant is used together. The ratio of the component (ii)/(iii) is preferably 4/6 to 9/1. A polyoxyethylene (6-30 addition mols) 10-36C alkyl ether, or the like, are preferable as the component (i). Preferably, the component (ii) contains oxyethylene.
