Illuminated tool tray apparatus

An improved tool tray apparatus having an interior tool storage area, an upper peripheral edge portion, and a light emitting mechanism disposed around at-least a part of the upper peripheral edge portion. The light emitting mechanism improves the lighting conditions when working in poorly lighted environments. More particulary, the improved tool tray apparatus selectively illuminates the interior tool storage area of the tool tray, and the area around the upper peripheral edge portion of the tool tray to provide for a safer work environment. The light emitted by the illuminated tool tray apparatus of the invention may be controllably switched between different colors at a controllably varied intensity.
