PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively cool a head overhead part by allowing an inlet water chamber to communicate with a circulating water chamber through an exhaust valve part water passage bored near the exhaust valve guide part of a cylinder head part. SOLUTION: The cooling water supplied into the inlet water chamber 14 of a cylinder head part through a cooling water inlet port is carried to a nozzle water chamber 20 through an inlet water passage 8, collided to a nozzle sleeve 25, and divided to both sides. It is carried from a communication part 33 to a circulating water chamber 15 through valve-to-valve water passages 28, 29. During this, the cooling water effectively cools the nozzle sleeve 25 opposed to an overhead part such as the nozzle water chamber 20, an injection valve guide part 12, an exhaust valve guide part 23, and a bulkhead 24 (valve-to-valve part), and it is carried to the circulating water chamber 15 and supplied to the water chamber of an exhaust manifold through an outlet 26. The remaining cooling water in the inlet water chamber 14 is also carried into the circulating water chamber 15 through a liner-side communicating channel to effectively cool a cylinder block part between cylinders close to the upper end of a combustion chamber during it. Accordingly, the cooling effect of the head-side overhead part can be enhanced to suppress the cracking thereof.
