PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a butyl rubber-based thermoplastic elastomer capable of easily setting its hardness in a wide range by selecting its blending ratio and also improving its strength, elongation, gas barrier property, vibration- suppressing property, sound-insulating property, etc. SOLUTION: This thermoplastic elastomer is obtained by using butyl rubber as a rubber component, a crystalline olefinic resin as a resin component respectively, and an alkylphenol resin or a petroleum-based hydrocarbon resin as a third component, mixing and kneading 40-89 wt.% rubber component, 10-50 wt.% resin component and 1-40 wt.% third component, and partially cross-linking with an organic peroxide.
