摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To make a specific error showing a sensor output for a magnetic field be in an IPS grade and a modulation factor be 1% or above by using a magnetic garnet film as a magnetooptic element and by making a Faraday rotation angle of the garnet film be within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic garnet film 16 obtained by forming the film of YbTb-series garnet having a maximum magnetic field on a single-crystal substrate by an epitaxial growth method is used as a magnetooptic element, and based on the result of a trial, the range of the value of a Faraday rotation angle thetaF of the magnetic garnet film satisfying a specific error of an IPS grade in an arbitrary rated executive magnetic field of 1000(Oe) or below and satisfying a modulation factor of 1% or above is defined. In other words, the value is defined in the range expressed by a specific value formula 351.3XHo<(-0.969)thetaF <4.896X10<-5>Ho<2>-0.944Ho+55.52 degrees. By applying the magnetic garnet film having the range of the thetaF value determined in this way to the magnetooptic element, a photomagnetic sensor satisfying the specific error of the IPS grade and the modulation factor of 1% or above is obtained.</p>
