PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact document feeder and also to suppress the document feeding mistakes by rocking a table while the table is kept between a 1st position and a 2nd position set above the 1st position and then shifting the table horizontally while the table is kept between the 2nd position and a 3rd position set above the 2nd position. SOLUTION: When a large number of document 2 are put on a hopper table 1, the table 1 is set at the lower limit position S1 as shown by a solid line. When the documents 2 are fed and decreased, a pinion 35 revolves and a rack 42 revolves slowly. Thus, the table 1 rocks a rocking area T1 set between the position S1 and a switching position S2. When the table 1 reaches the position S2 as shown by a broken line, the table 1 is set in a horizontal state. When the documents 2 are decreased more and the table 1 rises in a horizontal shift area T up to the upper limit position S3, the table 1 is kept horizontal. |
