摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize accurate velocity feedback control by obtaining with high accuracy, a velocity correction for the purpose of correcting VCM velocity detection errors due to changes in temperature or the like. SOLUTION: In a head loading/unloading type disk device, in starting loading control in which the head on a ramp is loaded on a disk, a VCM velocity detection value is read, which is detected from a VCM velocity detection circuit, in a state in which the actual VCM velocity is set to zero, by abutting the carriage on the outer circumferential stopper, and on the basis of this velocity detection, a calibration operation is performed in which a velocity correction is obtained for the purpose of correcting the relation between a VCM current and the VCM velocity detection (steps A1, A2). During the period of head positioning control after the loading operation, the calibration operation is repeated with the carriage abutted on the inner circumferential stopper periodically by using a timer, updating the velocity correction value, and carrying out an operation of returning to the original head position (steps B1-B6).
