<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently utilize a high temp. heat source by arranging metallic hydrides in the order of dropping hydrogen releasing temp. and heating them in the order to cause thermal decomposition. CONSTITUTION:MgNiH2, TiCoH2 and LaNi5H6 as metallic hydrides A, B, C are filled into divided chambers 1, 2, 3, respectively. A high temp. heat medium H is introduced into a divided chamber 4 from a line 18 at about 400 deg.C, and low temp. heat medium L into a divided chamber 5 from a line 20 at about 20 deg.C. The heat of the medium H is transferred from the chamber 1 to the chamber 3 to thermally decompose the metallic hydrides A, B, C. At this time, by regulating the pressure of hydrogen in a container 40 to about 5atm with valves 11, 12, 13, 16, the layers A, B, C are adjusted to about 320 deg.C, about 165 deg.C and about 45 deg.C, respectively, and hydrogen is released. The temp. of the source H is dropped from 400 deg.C to about 20 deg.C, and during this time the metallic hydrides A, B, C are thermally decomposed. Thus, efficient thermal decomposition with very little heat loss is performed.</p> |
