PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system capable of automatic environment setting at the time of connection with an extended system. SOLUTION: At the time of connection with an extended system 20, a docking controller 15 in a main body 10 of system acquires the configuration information on the extended system 20 containing the presence/absence of a display controller 21 from a docking controller 23 of the extended system 20 and executes a notice for requesting the update of environment setting to a system controller 11. Based on this configuration information on the extended system 20 acquired by the docking controller 15 in the main body 10 of system, the system controller 11 executes the update of environment setting so as to effectively operate various devices arranged in the extended system 20.
