PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer-type instrument capable of making a light-emitting surface emit light approximately uniformly. SOLUTION: A pointer-type instrument is provided with a pointer P having a pointer main body 1 and a member to be covered 12, an indication plate PN, a light source L, and an instrument main body M. The pointer main body 1 comprises reflecting parts 4-7 for reflecting illuminating light to the tip side, and rear side of a rotation center region R from the back and is formed of a light-transmitting material to light up an indicating part (light- emitting surface) 2 in a linear shape. In the member to be covered 12, an exposing part 123 is fixed to the pointer main body 1, so as to cover the rotation center region R from the back and expose the rotation center region R, corresponding to the reflecting parts 4-7. The indication plate PN is arranged at the back of the pointer P, and an opening part PN1 corresponding to the rotation center region R is formed in the indication plate PN. The light source L supplies illuminating light to the rotation center region R, through the opening part PN1 of the indication plate PN and the member to be covered 12 to light up the indicating part (light-emitting surface) 2 of the pointer main body 1. The instrument main body M comprises a pointer shaft S to drive the pointer P to rotate through the opening part PN1 of the indication plate PN. The member to be covered 12 comprises a transmitting part A, formed of a white semitransparent material.
