PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piping inspection method and a piping inspection device capable of surely inspecting RPV drain piping in pedestal of a nuclear power station and reducing exposure of workers. SOLUTION: In a pedestal locating below the reactor pressure vessel from where fuel is taken out, a running rail is laid in parallel to its horizontal part immediately below the reactor pressure vessel drain piping, an inspection device is placed on the running rail, the inspection device is moved along the running rail and inspection of the reactor pressure vessel drain piping is performed. The laying of the running rail is performed in the side part of the pedestal and providing a mechanism for preventing fall from the running rail is desired.
