<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of picture processing by compressing picture information by using pixel data as it is when matching with pixel data arranged to be away by extracted two-dimensional offset is not detected. SOLUTION: Picture data to be displayed on a display means is converted into a pixel data form and the arranging area of existent pixel data most continuously matched with specific pixel data is detected to extract an offset quantity. The cumulative table of the number of the most continuous by matched pixels is prepared for every offset quantity, and the offset quantity of a high order where the number of matched pixels is large is extracted to set to the offset quantities for compressing processing. When the matching of pixel data is detected by one of the offset quantities for compressing processing, the offset data is outputted to shift a compression pointer by the portion of the matching length. When the matching is not detected, pixel data instructed by the compressing pointer is outputted as it is to shift the compression pointer by the portion of one data.</p> |
