[Also in Division B7] A leak in an insulated housing 7 for liquefied gas causes a cold spot on the outside of the housing. This is detected by passing a carrier gas and a vapour of a substance e.g. water, which solidifies at the temperature of a cold spot through pipes 8 surrounding the housing 7. When the vapour solidifies the change of flow or pressure in pipe 9 operates a warning switch 13.</p> |
