PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor formed by using titanyloxyphthalocyanine or metal-free phthalocyanine and additives as a photosensitive material, superior in electrophotographic characteristics, in particular, chargeability characteristics at the time of repeated uses, and to provide the method for manufacturing it. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic photoreceptor is provided on a conductive substrate with a photosensitive layer, and this layer contains at least titanyloxyphthalocyanine as a photoconductive material and further, has 2,6- ditertiarybutyl-4-methylphenol added in an amount of 0.1-10 mmol per 1 mol of the titanyoxyphthalocyanine.
