The drum, of considerable diameter, is formed by means of a continuous belt 4 carrying the images which adopt a cylindrical configuration by virtue of the fact that, via one of its marginal zones, it is secured to an entrainment ring 8 which, via radial arms 10 of reduced cross section and great flexibility, are secured to the drive shaft 9 associated with the drive unit 3, in such a manner that the movable assembly constituted by the belt 4 and the ring 8 with its arms 10 offers a minimum weight and, consequently, generates likewise minimum inertial problems for the motor 3. The cylindrical configuration of the continuous strip 4, supplied thereto by the ring 8, is supplemented with a fixed plate 11, concretely fixed to the support 1 of the assembly, and provided on its inner face with a circumferential groove 12 for receiving and guiding that edge of the continuous strip 4 which is opposite the fastening of the strip to the entrainment ring 8. <IMAGE>
