PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit and a method for inspecting the function of overcharging protective circuit by which the function of an overcharge protective circuit can be inspected for operation hardly giving damages to a nonreversible safety element. SOLUTION: A current amplifier circuit section 23 is set to a nonoperating inspecting state, regardless of the presence of the supply of an abnormal charging detecting signal from a protective function section 5. The voltage corresponding to overcharging is generated across the mounting terminal sections of secondary batteries Ba1-Ba3. The presence of the output of an detecting signal for abnormal charging is detected by measuring the voltage of the output signal of the protective function section 5 and the propriety of the operation for the function in the section 5 is discriminated based on the detected results.
