PURPOSE: A method of running an air conditioner is provided to prevent a compressor from being short of oil when the oil is not circulated into the compressor through the low load of an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: A method of running an air conditioner comprises the steps of running a compressor with forcible frequency during certain time(T1) if an initial ran command is inputted after stopping the compressor, running the compressor with the set frequency lower than the forcible frequency, checking the ran time if the set frequency is lower than the reference frequency for circulating oil discharged from the compressor, and running the compressor with the forcible frequency during the time(T1) when the checked ran time is continued during specific time(T2).
