PURPOSE: A PCMCIA ATA card is provided so that power consumption of a control section of a flash memory is reduced. CONSTITUTION: A PCMCIA ATA card has a PCMCIA ATA interface (21), a local microprocessor (22),a flash memory controller (24), and a clock select output section (27). the PCMCIA ATA interface (21) interfaces a signal active time or signal level of a personal computer and an ATA card in accordance with a reference specification. The local microprocessor (22) applies a signal by combining an address signal and control signal to the PCMCIA interface (21) and the flash memory controller (24), exchanges data with the PCMCIA ATA card and the flash memory (25), and outputs a system clock signal and a clock select signal to a clock generating section (26). The flash memory controller (24) applies a signal by combining an address signal and control signal to and exchanges data with the flash memory controller (24). The clock generating section has a clock branch which branches the system clock signal into a plurality of continuous clock signals and a clock select output section which outputs select one of the clock signal and outputs the selected signal to the flash memory controller (24).
