Split light (1) is beamed from the side onto an eye (5) at a 33 degree angle to the sight axis. A receiver like a CCD camera (8) fitted with a signal processor records scatter images coming from the eye through an achromatic lens (6). The split light passes through an anamorphic imaging lens like a cylinder lens (3) and is formed by a series of dot-like light sources.
