PURPOSE: A computer chatting system is provided to allow computer chatting while seeing the face of the other party by applying a model based coding technique to the computer chatting. CONSTITUTION: A computer chatting system includes a first terminal(100), a first modem(200), an internet9300), a second terminal(400) and a second modem(500). The first terminal(100) includes a scanner(110), a texture face video extracting part(120), a three-dimensional model video coding part(130), a still picture coding part(140), a still picture coding part(150), a three-dimensional model video decoding part(160), a control part(170), and a text chatting program part(180). The second terminal(400) is formed of the same members as the first terminals(100).
