PURPOSE: A plasma address liquid crystal display is to improve the brightness and light efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A plasma address liquid crystal display comprises a blacklight section, a plasma section, and a liquid crystal section. A pair of negative electrode and positive electrode is positioned on opposite partitions(50) in a discharge cell. The negative electrode and the positive electrode being spaced in a relative long distance, so that light beam is intercepted by the positive and negative electrodes. Both sided of the partition are provided with an electrode having a same polarity to provide the structure of positive electrode/partition/positive electrode or negative electrode/partition/negative electrode, so that potential differential is not generated between both sides of the partitions.
