PURPOSE: A data interface apparatus for PDP(Plasma Display Panel) is provided to perform a conventional gradation process and a modified gradation process adequately. CONSTITUTION: A data interface apparatus for PDP(Plasma Display Panel) includes a firstdata real locate (106), a lookup table(112), a second data real locate (110), a data driver, and a scan driver. An electrode of a panel is addressed through a digital data A/D converted and reallocated into a sub field data. A discharge sustain pulse according to the digital data is applied on a scan/sustain electrode. The first data real locate (106) reallocates the A/D converter n bit input digital data into n sub field data. The lookup table(112) includes n+m sub field data according to the n sub field data. The second data real locate (110) the n bit sub field data into corresponding n+m bit sub field data. During a normal mode, the data driver takes the n sub field data reallocated in the first data real locate (106). During a modified mode, the data driver takes the n+m sub field data reallocated in the second data real locate (110).
