PURPOSE: A method for switching channel automatically selected for TV is provided so that a channel is displayed not all automatically searched channels but only automatically searched channels in which broadcasting signals are inputted when a user turns the automatically selected channels by skipping some automatically selected channels in which broadcasting signals are not inputted. CONSTITUTION: A control unit judges whether a channel automatically searching mode is turned on(S1). If this mode is turned on, the control unit selects channels from the first channel to the last channel judging whether broadcasting signals are inputted(S4,S5). If the broadcasting signals are inputted, the control unit stores the channels(S8). Otherwise, the control unit skips the channels(S6). If a channel switching key is inputted, the controller selects the automatically searched channels(S10,S11). In thess steps, if a broadcasting signal is inputted in a certain automatically selected channel, the control unit switches into the selected channel and displays it(S12,S15). Otherwise, the control unit skips the channel(S13).
