PURPOSE: A method for purifying waste water by aeration is provided, which is characterized in that aerobic microorganisms and anaerobic microorganisms are multiplied in the same aeration tank. CONSTITUTION: The method is composed of a settling tank (10), a tank (20) for controlling quantity of waste water, an aeration tank (40-42), and a filtration tank (50). The number of aeration tank is 2-4 groups, and the first aeration tank (40) is used for controlling retention time. Contacting materials are filled in the aeration tank, which is made of polypropylene or high-density polyethylene. A post (130) in shape of cylinder, which has a hollow, is installed among the media, and pipes (150) are connected in length and breadth like lattice. The anaerobic microorganisms grow in the inner part (140) of the media, and the aerobic microorganisms grow in the outside of the media.
