PURPOSE: An SMD(surface mount device) type sound converter is provided to promote the reduction of labor costs and the improvement in productivity by automatically mounting a sound converter and contacting electrodes without brazing. CONSTITUTION: In a sound converter, a magnetic circuit unit(63) is composed of a circular permanent magnet(61), a yoke plate(62), a cup-shaped yoke(60) and a circular yoke plate(62). A vibration unit(66) is made up of a voice coil(64) inserted into a magnetic gas between the yoke(60) and the yoke plate(62), and a vibration plate(65) having a fixed bobbin wound with the voice coil. The magnetic circuit unit and the vibration unit are combined with a lower recessed groove of a housing(20). Three combining protrusions(21-23) are arranged per 120 degrees on the outer circumference of the housing. A protector is combined on the lower end of the housing to protect the magnetic circuit unit and the vibration unit. The upper portion of spring terminals(30,35) is inserted into the lower portion when the sound converter is combined to a PCB(printed circuit board). Therefore, the contact distance is extended and the entire height of the product is reduced.
